Now does this sound fine to u guys...also i will use just my old cd-rom drive but if i were to get a new one what should i look for???...i found an asus one with 2mb cache and stuff...does the cache really count that much in a cd-rom drive??? thx...

so plz tell me what u think...also later i will buy another 1gb card to make 2gb dual channel ddr400...thx

Yeah, personally I would buy RAM from a different manufacturer. OCZ is a great company to buy from and you don't have to go with their top of the line stuff to get quality RAM. You might also want to get a stronger PSU because now days it pays to have one that's at least 500W. Trust me, you will be a lot happier in the long run if you go ahead and get something more powerful. For cd-rom drives, higher cache does help and you should also look at read and write speeds (of course the higher the better). Other than that, everything looks fine. :)

ok what about this

now i have heard great things about crucial ballistix and they are up to par with ocz right??? also they have great timings...and people say this 1gb (512x2) would keep up with bf2 high graphics but there is a 3 sec lag the second u start a map...also yes i might as well get a 500 watt power supply...i had a feeling 400 was a little too low...thx man u helped me a lot...and plz tell me waht u think of the ballistix..thx:)

edit: also can the 2 512 stick of crucial be dual channeled???

is this a good enough power supply???

or should i be looking into a different company??? thx

Yes, those two crucial sticks will work in dual channel (I know a guy who actually has that same set..), They seem really good. But if you want to run BF2 on high smoothely, you are going to need to save up and get 2x1gb.. I would get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227210
As for the power supply, I don't think it will suffice at all. Like at the amps on the 12v rails.. 10A and 15A? I don't think your system will take that too well..

Heres the one i have for my system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103464

Stable as a rock, but if you intend to do SLI down the road I don't know how well that will turn out..

As for the eVGA motherboard, I don't know eVGA for thier motherboards, just thier video cards, So i can't really comment on that.

The Enermax that mike posted is really good. When you are looking at power supplies, take notice of the Amps on the various connectors (mainly the 12V). The higher the amps the better. Not all 500W PSU's are the same as they provide different amperage with different models and manufacturers.

As for the crucial ballistix memory, i personally haven't had any experience with it, but from what I hear it is pretty good stuff. Of course you can use dual channel crucial ballistix, just buy it in a dual channel form (will come in a package like you say, 2X512MB or 2X1GB). 1GB of memory will be fine for running games but if you are paranoid about load times then the more you can install, the better. I get by with 1GB fine IMO.

well should i just buy the crucial then later buy another and not dual channel??? or what???...and i just want my load times around 2 minutes or less on bf2...just not like 2+...thx

looks good. the mobo doesn't support dual core just in case you didn't know so you can't really upgrade it unless you use FX. also i would get a better harddrive, you can get the hitachi deskstar 250gb for just 92 dollars. that's well worth it if you ask me.
