bsod on windows xp setup

I tried installing windows xp home edition and when it was installing devices I got a bsod.

Totally normal if you were trying to do this on a newer computer.
It is a Windows NT system, which requires an older computer (recommended before the 2010 release) and must have Legacy BIOS and MBR.

XP does not contain drivers for SATA controllers. If you can find a compatible driver, you can press F5 when prompted and load the drivers from a floppy disk!

If XP doesn't have the driver 99% of the time the drive won't show up in the DOS setup portion.

It would really help to know what kind of pc your attempting to install XP on to.
You can slip stream XP with the necessary drivers.

Follow these instructions to fix this error in Windows XP:
Fix 1: Remove viruses.
Fix 2: Run chkdsk.
Fix 3: Recover the Windows XP registry.
Fix 4: Check or remove hardware.
Fix 5: Reboot into Last Known Good Configuration
