My hp laptop fell of a shelf and when i try to turn it on it'll run for a second and then shut off, then it turns back on and shuts off and repeats. What could be wrong with it?

it might not be the HDD though.
Maybe the Mobo cracked or something stupid like that. I say have it checked out by a proffesional because we can't look inside it lol

Well, does it boot through BIOS then kill out, or does it just flicker on then kill, repeat? If your BIOS is showing on the screen, I'd put my money on your HDD (especially since anything over 50 G's will do it in pretty good). Depending on your location, I would remove the HDD and take it to a tech store and see if they can mount the HDD and verify it's functionality, unless you have the cables and knowhow to do it yourself.

Sounds like a broken hard drive to me. Though best to check it out by a professional
