Don't do that. Having worked in a retail environment dealing with that, it's just not cool, and most of the time you're not going to get any sympathy.

And fixing it will probably cost just about as much as a new monitor, unless you can find the panel for that model you have for cheap on eBay.

Man 1080p standard size monitors are so crazy cheap these days that I wouldn't stress it. I know you're across the pond but a local shop around my house sells used electronics and they always have 23/24" 1080p good name monitors for like 50 or so bucks.

thats true, found loads of used 1080p monitors that are <£45
