Bootable DVD...?

Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to "boot" a DVD on a DVD player.

What I want to do is hook up my DVD player to my TV, put in a special DVD and use it like linux, or DOS.

You're probably wondering why, so I will tell you.

I want to play MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) on my TV!



If anyone knows if this is possible, or knows another way to do it (free, please...) then I will eagerly await a reply.

pretty sure u cnt boot a program like linux or dos on a dvd player simply coz they dnt have the same technology as a compuoter they wudnt recognise the files

i think dvd players can only read media files so the only games u could play would have to be like a giant power point presentation like you answer question it shows you slide 78 which is congratulations or it plays you a video clip of something.
E.G the current dvd games that r out now work in exactly that way

thats what i think n e ways lets c if ppl confirm it
