hey guys, running xp...

i just bought a new dvdrw/cdrw drive, and in windows it is recognized and i can use the cds/dvds.

but in bios it isnt recognized and it wont let me boot from it...

i have it first in boot priority but it doesnt come up with the boot from cd, press any key screen.

it's on the ide2 cable, set as slave, and jumpered to slave (the same stuff happens while on master cable, and jumpered master)

any help?

Set the CD drive up as you would normally.

Some BIOS's require you to press a Function Key to enter the 'Boot From..' menu.

If by any chance you have an ASUS motherboard then you would press F8 to enter the 'Boot From' Menu while Posting.
