Bios sees 1.5 not 3.0

I just recently changed the processor in my kids Dell 2400. I went from a P4 2.2 to a P4 3.0. I noticed that the system wasn't running any better and went into bios and it was saying the processor was a 1.5. Then I look in the device manager and it shows a 3.0 with hyper threading enabled. Tested the computer with PcPitstop and it said the processor was running 50% below what it should. WHAT HELL IS GOING ON!!!!!!! :(

hmm. Is the bios locked?
If not then try to oc it and see what happens. If everything goes fine u MIGHT be able to reach the speed it should be going. Though I don't have a clue why it would be underclocked.

Or maybe u should reinstall windows. It's always a good thing to do when u change hardware.

Thanks but unfortunately Dell doesn't let you overclock. reinstalling windows isn't a bad idea.
