He has to, it's his job. It's suppose to make this sound serious, I think.

Lol, cmon guys, its Best Buys....

before I knew much about computers I wanted to work there, but now that I've been enlightened, I think it would actually just get me in trouble.

Can't blame BB for what the individual is doing (making illegal money of recycle computer parts). When you go get your computer repair, especially replacing the hard drive if it is damage or nonfunctional, ask to have it back. :D

The last time I formated the hard drive, I was still able to recover the files using ERD Commander, almost 90% of the files. Goes to show that you need more than that to wipe a hard drive clean.

Use the U.S. Government DoD 5220.22 M standard.

The Department of Defense drafted a specification for handling and recycling equipment. In this document, the recycling of magnetic media, such as your hard drive, is performed by writing a series of data patterns on the magnetic media rendering the data unrecoverable by conventional means. This is what SuperScrubber's and AutoScrubber's Military configuration does. The specification stipulates that magnetic media containing TOP SECRET data should be physically destroyed, however all classified and unclassified data on magnetic media can be sanitized using utilities such as SuperScrubber and AutoScrubber.
