Best OS for a hack/virus free environment take two

It's all down to how many people use a certain OS, like Windows, people make viruses because they know so many people are vunrable and thats what most people get. Sooo... most likely if you know something about computers you will use various OS'es, so whats the point in writeing a virus to an OS that hardly anyone uses, and those who do use it arent going to be daft enough to get it in the first place :p

sorry if this is a very old thread but...

even though i use windows most, i do have a computer in my house running ubuntu and (even though i have only had ubuntu for around a month or two) ubuntu seems more unlikely to get a virus (even without anti-virus software (unless i have a hidden one somewhere on my computer from ubuntu install))

on windows i have gotton a few viruses but on ubuntu there are not as many programs to download that would have a possible virus in them.

so i would have to say linux is alot more secure than windows.

(and this is coming from an every-day windows user LOL)
