Did you try using the File and Settings transfer wizard in Windows to transfer the settings from one computer to another? I have never used it, but I think that is how it works, feel free to correct me if I am wrong. But if I remember correctly, that will duplicate the settings from one computer to another. To access it:

Go to Start > Programs (or All Programs) > Accessories > System Tools > File and Settings Transfer Wizard.

Yes I know about that way, but ive never tried it. And I dono how the direct connect thing works, and neither how to set up a network.
