What would you guys recomend for speakers and a sound card for around $200(US)? I was thinking about the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 and an Audigy 2 soundcard. Is this a good combination?

Do your want the upgrade for DVD movies, Gaming, Music or all of the above? do you want 5.1 6.1 or 7.1 sound?

I just got an Audigy2 ZS and a set of Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 speakers (my neighbors hate me, but man do they ROCK!!).

I'm mainly going to use speakers to listen to music and watch movies. I use headphones for gaming. As for the channels, it doesn't really matter, but a speaker system with a subwoofer would be nice. So I only really need a 2.1.

The pro media is a nice choice but I would wait and save up for at least a 5.1 system. You are looking a a great sound card with a lot of potential and I just think it would be a waste to only hook up 2.1 speakers to a card capible of soo much more.

It would be like buying a Ferrari and never taking it out of 2nd gear...whats the point :))

i would go with the logitech x-530 speakers, they sound really sweet and the bass is nice too

Well I know for sure that I'm not going to save up 300+ dollars for the Promedia Ultra 5.1. Do more channels make the quality of the sound that much better? Can it still go up to high volumes?

All I really want is a crisp, clean, powerful speaker system with a lot of kick. I don't feel I need all the extra channels and I never used speakers with channels higher than 2.1 before, so I don't really know what I'm missing out on, but I would like to hear what you guys have to say about it.

The speakers don't have an incredible amount of power but I think unless you need uber loud then they should do just find. I have a logitech 5.1 70w system I got for $40 and I never even turn it up near full because it's plenty loud enough. And this system is 90W. But if you want to make the neighbors down the street to feel your bass then you probably would need a higher wattage system.

yeah i would go with the audigy 2 ZS too, and as far as the speakers those creative look good, but i would go with the logitech x-530, they got really clean sound and and the Sub gives you a really deep rich sound, they are like 75 dlls too, and Imo they look better than the creative ones, its just my opinion tough
