I miss when gaming audio quality was good. It wasn't just an afterthought with a "ready to ship" label tossed on it. Real directional audio, and attention to detail in ambience. Not a single thing dynamically compressed before being pushed through the minor API layer. Everything today seems to be made for headphones, and with that a lot of content gets lost. Whatever can get pushed and sold the quickest is always the goal rather than making things quality. I was just playing Stalker Anamoly and reached the X8 lab where you're immediately greeted with dynamic creepy whispers. I hit F5 and noped out real quick and couldn't remember the last time I ever did that with a game. And did everybody forget in gaming and cinema that the LFE channel exists??
