ATX power supply switch off?

evening all, my ATX power supply keeps switching off after about 5 mins any ideas please is the mother board faulty? many thanks Bill

you mean your pc just goes off, or does the psu actualy fail and not work when u push on on ur case

the psu turns off but I can turn it back on but it turns off after 5 mins

Get a different one and test it out.

Could be anything from a virus to faulty components to heat issues.

Need more info on your system mate. When did the problem start? Can you get hold of another PSU to test it? Start eliminating different aspects.

the plot thickens!Fitted new PSU not the problem had to be the motherboard ,but it works fine today??

You should have tried taking the PSU outside and blowing all the dust out of it, dead skin can cause some serious problems lol.
