Athlon 64 X2- Dual core proccessors!!!

I read an article at AMD website, and they tell
that X2 will run on 939 (I don't know if flashing
the Bios)...

And those processors need a dual core friendly
software...

For everyday software, it's running on one core
and 2.4+2.4 is not 4.8, because only one
2.4 is running...

Even if you have special software, the processor 'per se'
won't run double speed, even though it will run faster...

I'm happy to see that AMD will continue to make marked advancements against Intel, and will be happy to see chip prices come down further.

Um...

Why would home users of either brand want to use dual core? I like to tinker with stuff but have no real world use for a dual core cpu. Would you guys like to explain your facination with this? Just courious.

Bragging rights, most likely. Either way, I'm not going to own a dual core CPU. All it will do is bring down prices in general making it better for all of us.
