Athlon 64 4000+ question

Hey, real quick question. Which core is better for the 4000+? The ClawHammer/hammer or San diego? Also what is the best core for a 3800+? Thanks

Always look for the San Diego or Venice core when buying an Athlon 64.

I would take a san diego core 3700+ over a clawhammer core FX-55 anyday

The San Diego's are good coresm if you are just planning to overclock on air or water then those chips would be prefect. The Clawhammer scores don't clock too well with standard cooling and they need the subzero temps to start clocking nicely.

Yeah I plan to just overclock using air cooling to start out and then maybe move to water cooling down the road if the need be. So I think the San Diego will do quite nicely. Thanks for the help!

Yea. with good aircooling like a Thermalright or Zalman you should be hitting 2.9+Ghz..
