athlon 3000+ or 3200+

How much of an overclock do you plan on doing anyways? Anywhere from 200-400MHz OC is adequate under stock cooling. Anything above that, I recommend aftermarket cooling or even water cooling.

water cooling is for pushing high voltages. Even with it, i wouldnt run 24/7 with high volatages. I have not seen an opteron cooler, cuz usually people buy OEM opterons, better stepping and cheaper too. The stock A64 coolers suck big time. Pure aluminum. the dual core X2 4400+ and up coolers are nice, 4 heatpipes with an 80mm fan that you can change out.

so how high can i get with a 3200+ on stock cooler, assuming everything else can support a high oc.

and how high can i get with a 3000+ with this

Yeah, if it wasn't for my current heatsink setup, my CPU would be frying at the speed I'm running it at now.

I may have done something wrong, but stock with my 3500+ gets up to about 65 degrees C when under HEAVY load, standard clocks...

When I get my new heatsink/fan, I might want to do a bit of overclocking.
