Asus p4S800 running on agp 8x

Anyone have this board? are you able to run it on 8x agp?? mine wont let me run on 8x with 9800 pro without freezing.

on paper it should run agp 8x, does it freeze on bootup or in windows.

freezes only when im playing games runs fine when im on 4x

Install ASUSProbe off of your motherboard CD and watch your temps. Also, make sure all of your drivers are up to date. This includes getting .NET framework 1.1 (I think) from the Windows Update site.

Just one thing, their isnt a peformance difference for a 9800P between 8x and 4x in real life

Do check your power and temps though

If you feel up to it, backup your computer, format and have a fresh install, and make sure you re-install all your drivers and stuff, and if the problem persists - see your doctor, sorry bad joke.... If the problem persists, its hardware, if it doesnt its a software prob.

While you were having ISP problems, someone here had the exact same problem witha 9800 pro, think it was an asus mobo too
