AP + 11mb of 802.11b + total 35 user = 11x35 = 385mb bandwidth?

Hi there

I've a question about technology of AP on 802.11b.

For example, an AP with 802.11b could allow max. 35 users connection. 802.11b max. throughput is 11mb. If total 35 users simultaneously connecting to the AP, does it mean that every user have their own max. wireless bandwidth 11mb, or every user have 11mb/35 which is about 314kb each only?

This is so vague that all AP spec won't tell it clearly. Appreciate for any help to fix my mind.

neither is correct, you get a max 11megabits per second shared bandwidth on the network. this bandwidth is not allocated to each user or multiplied. if too much people use the network at the same time you will get congestion.

however if you are sharing the internet that is max 1.5megabit per second download than you are limited to actually 1.5 shared bandwidth for downloading from the internet.
