I have AVG 7.0 and spysweeper. If I were to turn these off to run xboxconnect but not use internet explorer, would I be able to get spyware and viruses?? If I'm still hooked up to the internet (obviously) but im not searching anything on IE I can't get anything right? Or can I?

I have to have them turned off so I can run xboxconnect or else it won't work. I haven't done it yet so thats why I checked here first.

Yes you would get them, you can configure your firewall to let your Xbox connect without causing any damage to your PC. What firewall have you got, and have you got SP2???

You can disable them both without getting anything but you must have some sort of firewall. I recommend Zone Alarm since you can have it allow xboxconnect.

If you running windows xp sp2 enable the firewall in the network settings through control panel.

If you need a firewall program I would recommend using either zone alarm or black ice.

If your worried about stuff getting through IE download firefox.
