at the same time, Dell is trying to increase their market share.

I wonder why this [Dell laptops catching fire] isn't on the news?

the battery problem has featured on Australian news though not too prominently. i thought Dell had done a recall on the laptops with this flaw.

They have done at least two recalls on their batteries that I've had to check for work.

I saw a 60 second feature on the news about their last recall, not really done very seriosuly even though it's a pretty big deal.

Well, in all fairness to Dell. It's actually not the laptops that are causing the fires. It's the Sony Lithium Ion Batteries. And Any laptop using the defective sony batteries, is subject to firey explosion.

It just happens that dell exclusively uses those Sony Batteries. Reports have said that it will cost Dell some $300 Million for recalls. Sony, is also supporting Dell Financially for this defect and recall.

well, they have dude. BUT! There are millions of them already in the hands of notebook buyers... So... that's why they have something called... a "recall"???
