Whats the fastest AMD out there for a socket 939? and why do they have 3000+ and all that?

I'm not a real fan of AMD, so I'm not exactly sure, but I think this is the fastest Althon out there. Also, the 3000+ and what not is a clever naming scheme. An Althon 3000+ is suppoused to be equivilant to a 3.0Ghz Pentium 4. At least, that's my understanding of the whole thing.

fastest amd out there is a AMD 64 3500+, it has 64 bit so it runs programs better seeing as the p4 only has 32 bit so amd 64 is the best out there, and the 3000+ is the name of the cpu...welll thats what i think im unsure...

^^^What are you talking about? The FX-55 is the fastest, not including the opteron's since you can run multiple opteron's in one system.

no kidding ...3500++lol!!!

yes it is the FX-55 unless you are looking into server processors XEONS, OPTERONS, ITANIUMS and that kind of stuff

yes. l2 makes a difference. Intel has a 2mb centrino that runs blazing fast.

omg some people are acutally retarded.......fx-55 is the best by far, adn the amds are way cheaper that damn intels
