AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3800+ Dual Core

Hey guys I was just wondering if when it says 3800+ in this processer does it mean both of the cores combined equal the equvilent of 3.8ghz or 3800+. or does it mean each seperate core on its own is the equvilent of 3.8ghz or 3800+.

no, it is two cores running at 1.8Ghz each. Not a 3.6Ghz processor.

yeah i know that and actually its 2.0ghz each but what i wanna know is if each is 3800+ or are they 1900+ each because that seems kinda hard to imagine and i know the two cores are seperate from each other and they dont combine to form one big 4.0ghz processer

Dual core 3800+ is just two 3800+ in one. It will do a3800+ but with faster speeds...nothing more.

2GHZ+2GHZ does not give you 4GHZ...two CPUs can't give you one

The best formula is this:

2GHZ+2GHZ = 2GHZ+2GHZ

The best way to think of it is...

2GHz Core + 2GHz Core = 1 2GHz Core 2x as fast as 2GHz Single Core.
