Okay... i need a bit of more help on picking between a INTEL and AMD. Also keep in mind that theyre the SAME EXACT PRICE.

AMD ATHLON 64 2800+_______________________________________
Same exact thing i posted above but the differences are as follows:

-(754-pin) AMD ATHLON64 2800+ CPU w/ Hyper Transport Technology
-(754-pin Socket) Abit KV8 PRO VIA K8T800 Chipset AGP8X w/LAN,USB2,&Audio
-GEIL VALUE 512MB PC3200 400MHz DDR MEMORY
-NVIDIA GeForce-FX 5200 128MB DDR W/ TV OUT & DVI

Okay, as i look at it, the major difference between these two is the RAM and the Vid card. Since everthing else is the same except processor speed, the ram, and the vid card, I will probably conclude that i should get the amd 64 deal. My guess of the huge difference between the ram and the vid card of the two is probably because the INTEL p4 w/ Hyperthread is better than the AMD 64? What do you guys suggest, the intel or the amd?

both computers are good, but the AMD wouldnt win against a P4 3.0Ghz in speed, but it would be better for games, because the FX5200 is noticeably better than the MX4000. so the AMD will play games better, but the P4 will be better for everything else.

i wouldnt get the fx 5200. It comes bottom on this benchamrk of graphics cards ive got (see the attached gif). I think it even says on nvidias website that its not been built for gaming, but if your not using it for games it will be fine.

ok it wont let me upload but it got 1550 and the top card got 12204

true, but when given the choice, i would easily go the FX5200 over the MX4000, which is what i was saying.

or just buy a ATI which are alot better for about the same price. Maybes a 9600Pro or XT? think they are about the same price

also the intel only has 256mb of ram, this is really only just enough to run windows stabily, and not up for gaming, im almost using up all of that now.

The amd will be alot better for gaming, (just needs the better graphics card now, 9600xt is the better one)

Yes, but member the 2800 runs at 1.6ghz 1600fsb. Im pretty positive this 2800 runs pretty cool. If you get a nice heatsink/cpu fan-60CFM. You would be able to OC it pretty easy. But for gaming, its better then the Intel.

You know the Athlon 3000 isent very much more.
