Advice needed on car

I'm assuming since it's a Subaru it's AWD. I'd check to see that that's working. Otherwise it seems like a pretty good deal to me, especially with all the other stuff included.

A 1990 model for $3200? It's 21 years old, not even the american version of that car sells for that much from a private seller.

IMO, ask for a test drive with out him if he is willing, and try to take a mechanic with ya that you know personally, go down the road somewhere out of sight and let him have a quick look over it.

I offered $2,500 and he agreed, so it's not as bad as $3,200 :) I'll see if I can do that, I know a mech who can help me out.

$2500 sounds a lot better, just remember all the specifics, I am unsure of what those transmissions service requirements are, but it wouldn't hurt to ask when or if the transmission has had the filter/fluid serviced. Only reason I bring that up is because he made clear what was done, which is typical maintence.
