Add music to video

Hi everyone, I have a bit of a query. I made a 4minute movie from various clips off things and would like to delace the audio from then and then add background music to it. I managed to add the music but not take the audio from the clips out. How can i do this??

First off, what OS do you have? You are going to need some video editing software.
