ACER laptop - enpowering technology malfunctioning

Just got a new laptop and am getting a msg 'enpowering technology is malfunctioning'! Anyone had this problem and how did you resolve it? Would be grateful for any tips. Thanks.

I've worked on a bunch of Acer's at work and I have never seen that. What are your specs, have you made any changes to the system recently? If not, and there are no important docuements on it, re-format the system from the backup disks it asked you to make as part of the original install process.

send it back can you boot to a cd if you can get a xp disc and see if you can put windows xp on there.

Isn't the empowering technology software? If so, try uninstalling it.
