ac'97 problem

Just finished building my comp i have a Jetway motherboard with VT8235 chipset, its got onboard sound ac'97 after i install the drivers from the cd, there is no sound and when i put everything onto maximum i can hear sound but only very quietly any1 had a similar problem and may know the solution

What speakers have you got? They could be faulty.

Did you connect the cable which goes from the cd drive to the motherboard.

Yeah, test the Speakers first, then maybe install the Drivers again, after that I don't know - if that doesn't work it must be the Motherboard.

Get a SB card
Check Control Panel MMedia for speaker on taskbar.

Ah thats a point - if they're headphones you should try some real speakers.

This should have no effect on volume.You have to tell Windows where the sound is going.
Really onboard sucks,Windows has an Update, try it.
