OP here. The rest of his setup is not to be worried about. He's a computer tech by trade and has always kept himself in custom pc's, if that gives you a bit of an idea. Assuming anything was not up to par with the card it would be replaced but from what knowledge I have I don't think it will be a problem. This PC has been used in another room for a while but he's thinking of making it his "main" again and the graphics card could just use a boost primarily for gaming needs.

That is also what I'm considering. Primary gaming needs = World of Warcraft which will be no problem. Would also like it to handle any future more graphic-intense games to run as smoothly as possible for what money is spent. Looks like I'll be going for the original choice which has been backed up by you guys. Thanks for that information and any future information.
