A question about DVD images

Hi guys

I didn't really know where to post this so..

Anyway, I just wanted to know the difference between dvd image burning and normal burning. I know that you use .ISO images for some things, but where do you use images and not just normal burning? Is there a difference? What is the advantage of using images?

I think the DVD image thing is just to put everything needed for burning a dvd into one simple file that can really only be burned one way. If you dont have an image you end up having a couple of folders (video_ts and audio_ts) that can at times be tricky to burn correctly. An image file is the whole shabang.
