What type of games are you planning on playing mate? And also, what size screen would you prefer? You can probably find a decent gaming laptop for your price range depending on the games you'd like to play.

He states that he wants a laptop, so why not help him out with that instead? Desktops are surely the way to go for gaming, but let's figure out what his needs are first.
