which one is the best?
i've heard that ati cards have problems in certain games (grid, pes...) with framerate falling rapidly.

EDIT: and what about this one:
GAINWARD GeForce 9800GT 512 MB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT GPU Clockspeed: 600MHz Memory: 512MB DDR3 Memory Clockspeed: 900(DDR1800)MHz Pixels per clock (peak) : na Bandwidth: 57.6GB/sec Ramdac: 400MHz Bus: PCI-Express Cooling: 2-Slot Fan Video-Features: HD-Output Connectivity: DVI-I + DVI-I

9800GT

Deathhell77, you are clearly spamming your way up the charts. Last time I checked you had 70 posts. I wouldn't mind you posting 17 post each day, but your posts don't help the forum at all.

Please summit as many benchmarks that show a 9800GT beating a 4850!

Here's a benchmark to make the judgement by yourself on which card is better.

I will post more later.

and what about these driver problems i've heard of? after reading various forums, the situation seems pretty chaotic to me.

ATI updates there drivers more frequently than Nvidia so performance improves with each update as well as any bugs that were present in the last driver.

Check the dates of the forums your reading, because I have not had any problem with any driver ATI driver since I bought my 4870. There on driver version 8.9 and its quite stable. When these cards first came out, the driver version was 8.5 or 8.6 I believe.

so these problems i've found on the internet could just be isolated cases? you say that, generally, ati cards don't have major driver problems. i could simply install the latest ones, and play the games normally?

The 9800GT is just the 8800GT rebranded so I have heard. The Radeon HD 4850 is much better than an 8800GT so is therefore better than the 9800GT.
