I already did, they said that when they intall the video card the memory will have less load and will run better and changing to 512... just saying what they said ti me
BS,do they have an 800 # or toll free one ?
Your first post was referring to system ram i think. It comes in multiples of 64.Or sticks of 64,128,256, or 512,
but this might be a mismatched 2 or 3 or 4 sticks,or the wrong type for your board.
You never did say where you got this reading though.480-256=224.

I know is 480RAM because it says 480 in dxdiag. Im sure of it.. I'll get you more in deph once i finish the upgrade.

Ok but a video upgrade is not the answer. Why did you ask here and accept whoever to suck you into a video "upgrade" card ?
It's a mismatched "pair" of ram sticks i think.but you never really explained this did you ?

Thats a very good point, missmatched pair of Sticks would do it - but numbers are against that idea because neither would work if they're missmatched, you can only have 4 in a motherboard, and the sticks would be in 128MB - which would make 256MB if the other two were missmatched.

Graphics update is not going to change a thing in the RAM; although with 32MB Graphics its probably best anyway.

Did you tell them they didn't put in enough RAM?

I still can't work out how you got 480MB! Even if four work and they don't have to match its hard to make 480.

EDIT: Ah ha! I did it; to get 480MB they must have put in: 256, 128, 64 and a 32. There is no other way to get 480 unless a stick is seriously bad.

Eitherway; tell them about it and make them make it up to 512 - its only 32MB but it shows them, if you buy anymore, not to do it again.

I have 2 x 256,DDR this is what dxdiag tells me.
