3 Decisions, which one?

I am finally about to purchase a gaming computer and have narrowed my decision down to 3 choices, and need some help in picking one!!

(in no particular order)

# 2: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229080

# 3: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229086

I want to run a lot of programs at once without slowing down too much, and be able to have a second video card. I tried looking into which one of these motherboards can support 2 cards, but I ended up confusing myself lol.

Thanks.

Your second choice is the only one that can support multiple cards. A quad core is a lot better at multitasking than a dual core is. You have to either give up an SLI/Crossfire setup, or the ability to multitask better. You could always just build your own.

Yup, #2 is the only one with SLI capability. #1 is the best performer of the three, IMO.

Have you had a look at the systems from iBUYPOWER? They make great computers at very competitive prices.

#1 all the way, losing the SLI capability is no biggie, it's easier to just get one very good gaming card and never even bother with SLI or Crossfire...

for srs, Rooster? o_O Q8200 vs Q9550? the Q8200 has like a 4M shared while the Q9550 has 12M. Plus, the third option cost less. But i'm not sure why. I have almost no experience (and I really should learn) with ATI/AMD products. The pricing could be because of the 4850. I'm not sure how a 9800GT would weigh in against it.

EDIT: *shoots head* didn't look at teh mobo on option 3...I would agree with Rooster, then. option 1. Or build your own. But Rohan and I both know from first hand experience that you can't build cheap rigs in Canada.

Yup, that one can do Crossfire with dual ATI video cards.

You would need to select an ATI card instead of the 9800GT as shown in your link if you are planning on adding another video card at a later time.

Have a gander at this bad boy: Gamer Paladin Q740. It's SLI ready.

:D

The 4850 and 9800GTX+ are supposed to around the same par when it comes to performance. So the 4850 does perform a bit better than the 9800GT. I would personally go for the third option with the 9800GT. The money you save you can use it to save up for another card. It also has a more powerful processor.

Wise point. But look at the board on the third option as it looks pretty shabby for a 900 dollar rig. Even by Canadian standards.

What are you using this computer for? For gaming, the second option is best. For editing, you can't go wrong with the third option.
