Hey guys I want to upgrade my hard drive because im using a Seagate momentus laptop drive for my main system right now. Heres the options i've come up with:

2x Seagate 7200.10 250GB
vs
WD Caviar Black 1TB

My budget is $110, Disk space doesnt matter to me, I just want my shit to load fast. My motherboard does support raid: Asus 790gx. Which one of these options would work better for me?

They keep mentioning in guides that raid 0 (fastest raid?) increases chances for disk failure.. is that actually true or what? ah i dont know anything about storage configs or hard drive performance sorry

Wow nice link, so wiki labels a 10% failure rate with RAID 0. But Seagate has a 3 year warrenty that will support any raid config disk failure, So it seems like it works out.

But from what i've learned from this forum whats worth doing, is worth over doing.
how is this: OCZ Vertex 60GB

60GB is fine for me, plus i could buy a second one later if needed. Is this actually worth paying a premium for?

do you have a raid controller? if you dont have hardware raid..it might be a lil bit slower but should still overall be faster.

I was talking about a RAID card..not an on-board controller. Because, raid-cards give you a hell of a lot more options than just onboard raid. Like XOR, raid6. If he was running more than two hdd's.. like a server, maybe 3x 1tb drives..it would make a difference, but since its only two 250gb drives its not gonna really make a difference i guess.
