2012 iMac adhesive on 2010 iMac

Hi.
I'm in desperate need of some help. I've had a mid 2010 21.5" iMac for the past 10 years and it's given me no trouble at all. The day that I decide to sell it - the hard drive fails.
To cut a very long story short, I'm replacing the hard drive and I need to know if it's possible to use adhesive strips which were designed for the 21.5" 2012 iMac on my 2010 model.

Any idea?

Not sure if you have a 2010 or a 2012. Watch this for the 2010:

If you do not use an Apple oem drive with a sensor, you'll have to get a sensor. OCW sells these sensors,
They use magnets so you do not need the adhesive strips
It is a M-Fer to get all the dust off that screen once you open it!
