when i reboot one of my laptop it has windows 2000 but i use xp I'm confused and how do i get rid of this please help

are you saying it has an option to boot between XP or 2K. you're confused......now i'm confused after that post. if it is then you can change the boot.ini file to remove the entry. but be careful as this file tells your pc how to boot the operating system so there is potential for screw ups.

now I'm confused OK when i reboot it asked me which version to use i always choose xp i want the other windows 2000 to go away is that possible

Control panel > performance and maintenance > System > click advanced tab > Press the "settings" button under startup and recovery > then there will be an "edit" button which will allow you to delete 2000 out of startup.

yes, right click my computer and click properties. click advanced, click startup and recovery. from here you can either change the value of "time to display list of operating systems" to zero or you can manually edit the boot.ini file to remove the entry for win 2k. personally as you seem confused i think you should just change the value to zero as it is straightforward. that way next time it goes to display the list it will be displayed for "0" seconds, in other words it won't be displayed
