2 PSU's in a single PC (is it possible?)

You also run a very high risk of creating a ground-loop, potentially frying your entire box. Ouch.
 
There is a good use for dual PSU's that all of you have missed, however, i can see why, because no one here does this. You can use dual PSU's to have one powering all your major components (mobo, GPU(s), HDD's), and one powering your other stuff (Optical drives, HDD's, fans) and watercooling equipment (pump, fans).
 
if one fails your screwed either way if the cooling fails everything starts to burn, if the actual components psu fail then you have the usual worry of them bing taken out by a power surge which is more likely because you have spent less on the psu because you have to share the money between two
