16fps avg. on bf2 causing connection problems leading to disconnecting????

Experience speaks here, turning off your computer, or even your router for that matter, is not necessary. Just release the ip then renew it... that simple.
Those tech support guys just try to make it as simple as humanely possible, since most people don't know much about this sort of stuff.

IP config.. lets see..
start>run
type in "cmd", then "ipconfig"
now, type in "ipconfig /release", then "ipconfig /renew"

Go into your router, usually happens to be http://192.168.1.1/ look for ip options, as in releasing and renewing an IP.
