$1000 HTPC AMD/ATI build for a friend

So I haven't built a new AMD computer in never... I have a friend that wants a new "fast" computer for use as an HTPC to use on his 60" TV. I decided on AMD/ATI because it is essentially cheaper even though I am an Intel fanboy. So I don't know much about AMD/ATI. I threw some parts together semi quickly that added up to right around $1k.

I used to have a motherboard and graphics card picked out and in my cart, but they were removed because of insufficient stock, so anyone help me out with that.

Feel free to tear this completely apart. I'm big on Western Digital drives, and that is the only brand I put in new computers I build, so the drive brand cannot change. He doesn't need lots of hard drive space. 500GB is probably overdoing it really. Other than that, that should be all I know he wants. Every one of the parts can change for all I care. I just want a decent computer for under $1000. He doesn't game, so no over the top graphics cards are necessary.

On the same note, I'm looking into upgrading soonish. Want a decent gaming system for around $1k. AMD/ATI. I already have a case and hard drive. I haven't really looked into it yet, just a thought. I will eventually be turning my current desktop into an HTPC with a 32" HDTV.

This is the board I'll be using in a few weeks in a build for a customer with the same CPU. Also, if he isn't overclocking, get this RAM because I'd rather have a lower CAS than a higher (but unused) clock speed.

Also, I love Corsair, but 750W is overkill for almost everything unless he plans on gaming/putting in some massive GPU.

Actually this is one of the fastest drives out there that is a standard 7200RPM. Yes, even with 16MB cache. But since Mr. Fanboy up there said not to post any other brands of HDDs, I didn't post it initially.

Thanks. Any suggestion on an ATX mobo though? I hate ATX cases with micro ATX mobos. I'll down the wattage on the PSU.

Yes I am a Western Digital fanboy. Had too many bad experiences with Seagate drives brand new out of the box. And they are so friggin' LOUD brand new... Why? When you get one that works, even with the loudness, I know they do actually work. Out of all the brand new Western Digital drives I have bought new (quite a lot), only one has died on me. Got it RMAed and all was good. Not one of them are loud. I have to get up right next to them to even hear them under load. I do have 1 500GB Seagate drive in my server that I got for free. Use it in RAID1 along side a Western Digital. Some smaller brand names I don't even want to try. I'm a person that likes to stick with what I have proved to work.
