Agreed. Too much trouble plus there's no guarantee it will work and also there's more stuff that could potentially fail. With the heatsink if the fan fails the processor will be fine. However if the liquid cooling fails there goes the processor.

I did try a second identical fan from the other identical PC placed on the back of the existing fan, but I didn't see much of a difference in cooling and I think there was a little more airflow. Just because air moves faster through a heatsink doesn't necessarily mean it cools better.

I know. I was thinking more about things like lightning given the example I cited of two bad ethernet ports and lightning didn't even direct strike. Plus I have to make a hole in my building for the cable and have to figure a way to run it properly from the building to the house.

The USB Wi-Fi adapter worked fine for me until I decided to stream on Youtube. In the house the other identical computer uses a USB to ethernet adapter as the ethernet ports on that PC were damaged.

I hadn't thought about a PCI-E adapter. Power line over ethernet may not work as the building's breaker box is fed from the breaker box in my dad's shop which is on a separate meter than the house.
