As of today, I am considered "fully vaccinated", 2 weeks past my 2nd dose of Pfizer vaccine! Don't plan to do things differently, will still wear a mask in public, social distance, wash hands, limit exposure to crowds, etc...
Got a nice surprise in the mail yesterday, a check for $1400 additional stimulus money. This must be because of our disabled daughter since we claimed her as a dependent on our 2020 taxes.
I think a delivery service that serves a country the size of Germany, has a much better chance of on-time delivery and such since Germany is smaller than the state of California, and is all within the same time zone. I don't think they need to deal with as many weather anomalies within the same...
What good is it to prove they didn't attempt? They're still not gonna deliver the package until the next day anyway. Do they compensate you in some way?
My experience is that whomever you complain to will, at best, apologize for the delay.
Spring has sprung around here! Sunny and high 70F/low 80F temps for the next week or so. Our AC actually kicked in a couple of times yesterday afternoon.
Bingo!
That's why the real solution is to spend money on training/education for those unskilled people to be able to do skilled jobs. The problem is that once the cushy manufacturing jobs left the US, the workers that were laid off weren't willing/able to get the training/education they needed...
Yup, we had $2800 ($1400x2) deposited on 3/12, the day after Biden signed the bill. I even posted in this thread on that day asking if others had gotten theirs as well.
I guess the treasury Department is a little behind. Yesterday, we got notified by mail that we would be receiving a 2nd stimulus check in the amount of $1200 ($600x2). That check was deposited into our savings on Dec 30th of last year!
My 2nd job while in High School was pumping gas at a Chevron station for $1.75/hr. The boss sent me to a week long class to learn how to upsell things like fan belts, tires, oil changes, etc... After attending that class, I got a raise to $2/hr plus a 10% commission on whatever I sold. That...
I've always been relatively good with money. I started working when I was 16 years old for $1.35/hr, saved virtually all that I got paid back then and bought my 1st car for cash before I turned 17. In the army, I got paid $268/month as a private and managed to save at least $75/month out of...
In my own experience, I started out working as a technician while attending classes at night to get my degree. All of my tech buddies, had various excuses as to why it wasn't worth it for me (or them) to go to school at night to get a degree. "I'm too old to go to school.", "Won't make any...
This is the exact thing that personally irks me about the stimulus. We have enough income that we don't even need the stimulus, won't really make a difference in our lives, yet we got ours right away. Meanwhile, there are plenty of people out there that need the money way more than we do that...
Yep, amazingly fast!
Our stimulus will be used to pay what we owe the Feds in taxes plus our oldest daughter is getting married in May so some of it will go towards paying for the wedding.
I was working on a project yesterday and needed to cut up a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" plywood. I got out my trusty Craftsman circular saw and started in. The first cut was the length of the sheet. Made it thru that cut but when I went to make the 2nd cut, the saw wouldn't turn on, completely dead. I...
I have a Surface Pro 7 and love it. I've never done any battery testing on it because I don't have a need to use it for many hours on just the battery.
Before the Pro 7, I had a Pro 3 which I also loved and would still be using if I hadn't dropped it and cracked it's screen. Even with a...
What do you plan to do with it? It won't be good for gaming and, imo, it's on the pricey side for what you get. I think you'd be better off putting the monthly payment toward buying a computer rather than renting time on their VM.
