    Official Windows 10 Thread

If it's activated and you sign in using your Microsoft account as a W10 logon it retains your key there too. It has enabled me to swap components without being bugged about a key. Probably the only thing Microsoft has done right in years.

Unpaid Youtube reviewers and people on Reddit that actually have it themselves isn't enough? If you'd buy a $1,000 graphics card based on reviewers then there is no difference here. Since you already have decent service I don't see why it's a debate anyway. I don't think anybody with a landline...

    Wifi Long Distance

Technically yes, but you wouldn't notice it unless you have 10+ cameras all sending data to the cloud. Try to remember, cameras are an upload thing, not a download thing. So the 400Mb number doesn't matter only your upload which with Spectrum is probably only around 20Mb. Each Ring camera is...

See the rest of that post for the how and why. It's not traditional satelite and as such is not an apples to apples comparison. Unlimited not being unlimited. In terms of data caps at least in the states unlimited is true unlimited with no throttling for land based ISPs. Unlimited with a soft...

The content doesn't really matter in this context, what matters is it works as advertised even in beta setup by a group of morons. The video was nothing more than straying off the "I'll believe it when I see it" mentality because it's there and does what they say. They also go into detail in...

    What You've Just Bought!

I know how, it's a case of I'm not good at it. Because I'm not good at it I don't do it which is why I don't get better. If I was trying to make some nice audio gear I would want good solid joints.

No, I have fiber and it's (Starlink) still in beta. I have thought about Starlink (post launch) as a backup for my WAN 2 port for when the fiber fails for whatever reason. I've also thought about using it for just the kids but that would be greedy lol. I don't have the data you're after, and...

That's why I have pads. Elbow, knee, hands, and a helmet. The only time I've ever hurt myself was because I was dumb and not wearing any protection, but with pads on it's a case of landing on pads instead of skin. That is actually cool af. If I could solder I would love to do something like this.

Like I said, very very different technologies. Starlink is not your traditional satellite system you've known for decades. At the end of the day what they say on paper and their website doesn't really matter. Traditionally copper vs coax vs fiber plans are separated because the technologies...

See and that's what I was saying before doesn't make sense. There shouldn't be a "copper" plan on fiber. Should just have a planned speed, an amount paid, done. Stuff like that would run into legality issues here in the states. It's good. Starlink is a low altitude grid based system. 100Mb...

Yea he's in Saudi which is why I originally said CoL/Area variables aside and could only compare to areas here in the states. From our previous discussion it seemed he was the lucky one to get really good net whereas others couldn't get what he got.

Custom build for Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

No you can still buy 32bit, it's only OEM partners that aren't offering 32bit variants anymore. In any case, not really a bad thing.
  20. PP Mguire

Custom build for Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

They aren't selling to OEMs anymore, don't think 32bit will go away as an option in media creation tool. That's because they have an emulated 16bit layer. Win 10 32bit you can add it back in and if you didn't those 16bit installers won't work.

Custom build for Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

The updates really aren't all that necessary. Windows 10 is at 75% market share, I highly doubt there are new exploits being written for an EOL OS now. The only reason my XP box is fully updated with the POS updates is because I do a fresh install with each new integral to get the utility and...

They are only design queues and theoretical. Nobody is actually making these. You don't need a password for W10 nor do you need a username or password to use the browser. When installing Windows 10 leave your internet unplugged. On the network tab during setup click the bottom lower left "I...

Custom build for Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

It's an unmade design concept just like Windows XP 2021 unfortunately. If you build a new rig with new parts then just keep the old hardware with an old OS. That's what I do to play old games that don't play nice with W10.

CoL/area variables aside it really depends. Is that good for the country areas here? Yea. For the city? No. If I remember our conversation right you're getting what others can't so I'd say that's probably good.

Custom build for Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

What we're talking about is the compatibility with newer hardware like a Ryzen setup for Windows 10. Most all boards will be 100% USB3 or only 2 USB2 ports. USB controllers, NVMe, and SATA controllers will need drivers slipstreamed to work and in most cases even simply install.

Furnace and heater are electric, the fireplace you light manually because it's technically only a log starter. I've kept it on for days though because it lets the furnace cycle. Our computers in the game room just idling have kept the chill off. We are back to 100% as of now (at least at my...

How to Turn Off Avast Temporarily in Windows 10?

Avast is spyware collecting your data and selling it. This is why it has been taken off recommended lists for years now so although Joe was a little passive aggressive about the recommendation, I'd second saying you should toss it.

Lol no, you're giving some idiots too much credit. Most that have died from that left their car running in the garage. I know that sounds insanely harsh but it's a common thing people know. Can't argue about the last part, been screaming about that for days and I have had power. It's pathetic.

The funny thing is, it was fossil fuel providers that slipped because they didn't fix the issue when we had it 10 years ago adding heating elements to the pipes. It's not a provide issue, it's a grid and greed issue. The treatment plant lost power. They are on the essential list and still got cut off along with some hospitals in the area. 3 pumps were down and they had to drain the tower. I still don't have water after them having the pumps back up/...

Look at this posted yesterday. The blue in the Panhandle and east edge of Texas is SPP, and the western tip is WECC. The rest of the state is ERCOT and Texans are finally waking up to the real problem. We'll be without water for days too because the blackouts took out a couple treatment plants.

Their larger plans do not, their lower plans do but that's if you're on Gigapower. Idk about Uverse.
