Check your power supply is working and that all fans are going when it starts. You said it happens when you start an application when it is under load. Check temperatures in BIOS ;)
I uninstalled from the add/remove programs menu just like the nVidia website told me to.
OK, heres a new problem. I've installed that and the first three !s have gone away but now theres a new one:
nVidia Network Bus Enumerator
How do I fix this one? I've just installed everything like you...
Thats a nice PC :D
You should definitley get a 6800gt like dhw200 said and a better PSU. That one isn't so good ;)
Oh, and have you considered a heatsink :)
Right I'm downloading that now.
It says on nVidia it has:
Audio driver 4.60 (WHQL)
Audio utilities 4.51
Ethernet driver 4.75 (WHQL)
SMBus driver 4.45 (WHQL)
Installer 4.60
IDE NVIDIA driver 5.18 (WHQL)
Should that fix all of the yellow !s in device manager then?
Yes I know I already got the graphics drivers.
I mean do I need this:
Windows XP/2000 - nForce4 Standalone Kit (6.53)
Version: 6.53
Release Date: March 17, 2005
Yea but the only reason this happened was because I had to uninstall my Nvidia drivers for new ones because Steam kept telling me they were outdated. Does anyone know which of the above drivers I need to download and install since no CD came with my motherboard as the system was pre-built.
Below are a list of drivers I found for my motherboard on the Asus website. Which one do I need because I don't want to download the wrong one. The motherboard came with the PC so no manual or disc :(
I uninstalled my Nvidia drivers and put fresh ones on as instructed by Steam as it told me to get the latest version but on the installation of the new drivers I now get dialogs to install software/drivers for:
Other PCI Bridge Device
PCI Memory Controller
SM Bus Controller
Help! I only took...
The 6800 GT is awesome man. Good choice.
It runs like a dream. I may not have the best version as some people here would say but I wouldn't swap my card for anything at the minute.:p
You got an intelligent penguin or something? :p
You'd probably just need to leave it running it would keep itself warm. Then again it could get water freezing inside it then youre screwed...
Well I haven't ordered the wireless stuff just yet if what your saying is it would be better to feed it with wires to the phone socket say um 15 metres away 2 rooms away down a hall under the floor if ya catch the drift there ??
edit: sorry if this against the rules just using this...
