I have a hard drive with Windows XP on it, and I would like install another damaged hard drive with Windows 2000 on it so I can at least salvage some files from it. Could anyone help me with how to do this? Thanks in advance.

lol that's true, although is there a way I can get the info off of the hard drive?

Ok I ran the Chkdsk /r in the recovery console, and when it was finished, it said the volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems. Am I out of luck with this then?

ok the error was a STOP error, saying INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

The computer I have has Windows 2000, and I am starting to run into this problem now. The computer will get to the Windows boot up screen, and after that, it flashes a very quick BSOD, and then reboots itself. It is doing this everytime I boot up now. Is this a hard drive problem? Thanks

Whenever I go to the Microsoft website to find out how to update my Windows 2000 servers, they consistently re-direct me to pages where I can download Windows 2003 server updates. Will this work with my Windows 2000 operating system? Thanks in advance.

Is there any way, as an administrator, to restrict what types of users can log in (i.e. user groups defined in the active directory)? Also, is there any way I can restict the way they can log in...meaning, when they try to log in, can I make it that they can only log on to a company's domain...

It's definitely an on-board graphics card, and that's what I thought too, that windows would install the drivers automatically. But when I go into the device manager, is says the driver for the video controller is not yet installed. Same with the Ethernet Controller, which is also integrated. So...

I just finished installing Windows 2000 on this machine of mine, and I am unsure as to what drivers I should install on it for the video and ethernet controllers. How would I go about figuring out what to download?
