My current situation is as such; I have two physical hard drives in my server. One contains TV Shows (A-M) and the other contains TV Shows (N-Z). I would like to be able to somehow make a virtual hard drive, which shows the contents of both drives simultaneously, but will put files starting with...
Used Paragon to move everything off the drive, deleted the partition and created a new one, and the drive letter assigned just fine. So strange! Thanks for the help fellas.
All the data is on the drive, and I can access and copy the data, even from within windows (Paragon lets you explore and export off the drive). I was just hoping to add a drive letter, vs copying 500gb to somewhere. I guess Ill have to export all the files, and format. Thanks for the help anyway!
It shows the drive, and that it has an NTFS partition (at the bottom, but not in the top pane). Everything is perfect except I cant assign the drive letter.
I ran those tools simply to rule out the issue being the drive itself. Try getting something like Paragon Partition Manager, and see if that will let you assign a drive letter. If the drive is okay, even if you cant assign a drive letter, you can still use it to explore the drive and extract any...
I just ran into the exact same problem of having a drive letter disappear, but with a Maxtor 500GB drive, here:

You said you tried to reassign a letter, but nothing happens; do you get an error like I do?
I understand both your points, thats why Im not arguing :)
I ran both MaxBlast and SeaTools (as I happened to have copies of both around) and both short tests came up clean.
I found someone else with the same problem, and they used EASEUS Partition Manager (Looks like a rip of Partition Magic...
But when I want to assign the drive a letter in windows... I assumed that part had to be done in windows :P Ill fire up a copy of MaxBlast, since its a Maxtor drive.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. I connected a 500GB hard drive with some important stuff on it, and about 30 seconds after, I got an 0x8E bluescreen. I analyzed the bluescreen and it turned out to be my razer mouse driver, so it seems unconnected. But after that bluescreen, the partition on the...
The drive this is happening on is partitioned in half - one has a Journaled Volume for my Panther dual-boot, and the other half is storage, NTFS format. Ive noticed that some of the folders are hidden, and there is now an application with the same name - if I open the hidden folder or the...
That's with all my hidden files showing, unless it skips certain files. I wouldnt be worried if it was a few hundred megs, but this is 54gb that Im missing
EDIT Lock it up. Turns out I had 52.1GB in offline folders...
