Motherboards come nowadays with built in sound, so unless you have some fancy sound system you don't really need a sound card.
You should go for the GTX 770 instead of the 670. The GTX 770 is basically almost a GTX 680 but for the price of the GTX 670.
I'd also suggest going for a Haswell build...
While it's a refresh, it may be a bit wise to wait for their release since they should be cheaper. IIRC, 760 Ti will be ~ 300 ish 770 will be around ~450 ish.
I'd suggest against using the GX series of CoolerMaster since it's one of their crappiest as far as reviews go. I don't think it'll be much dangerous tho unless you go multi GPU, but then again nothing is guaranteed.
You don't need 750W if you're gonna stay with a single 660Ti. Something like the SeaSonic M12II 520W should be more than fine for a single card. If you like headroom, make it Seasonic M12II 620W or Corsair TX/HX 650W.
No, gaming doesn't make use of Cudas, at least not in a way that makes nVidia better than AMD.
OP, GTX 480 is better by a good margin but it consumes a lot of power and runs hot. If you have a PSU enough for it, use it. What's your PSU?
The review I'm telling you about is from a user experience on another website.
Either way I still don't understand why you're so stubborn on giving him something that's theoretically worse... Tighter timings are theoretically better than higher looser timings. If he can buy better RAM within...
You're much better off saving that money to upgrade when the next series of GPU is released. nVidia.com clearly states it's good up to 97 or 99 don't remember exactly. GPU load temperature in the 60's is actually good I'd believe.
There have been reviews that better ram will result in better minimum FPS in games.
If it's just a difference of a few bucks, why go for something that's theoretically slower?
Mguire, why run RAM at 1.65V when he can get stock ram @ 1600 MHz CL9 at 1.5V only? Then he can overclock those even beyond 1600 MHz if he wants to up the volts. It's only 7$ difference, I can't see why he shouldn't do the RAM exchange. In fact I'd do it if I'm in his place.
