Hey guys,
i recieved all my comp bits in the mail today. Just waiting on the case to put it all together. While im waiting im just figuring out the way i want to connect the HD's in raid. I have 2 WD 36 gig raptors that i want in raid 0, and 2 WD 160 GB sata drives i want in raid 0. For anyone...
i cant find the eVGA card anywhere in Aust computer stores. Ill keep looking though. I know the BFG OC has only been overclocked by 20 Mhz core, but ive read reviews on it that have overclocked way beyond ultra speeds. Apparently thats pretty much the norm with the card too.
anyway getting back to the main topic...
i think that im gonna try and go for the 6800GT. Ive heard it can be overclocked to ultra speeds. The main thing that has ushed me in this direction is this: If i buy 2 6600GT's i may get better performance in some applications, but if i ever wanna...
by doing a bit of pricing it actually seems to be working out that two 6600GT's would be more expensive thatn a 6800GT. By the way im in Australia so the prices are different here. Basically the 6600GT i have my eye on is $450, and the 6800GT is $750.
yeah im starting to think ill go for the dual 6600GT's.
gaara: Can you point me to a reliable source that says something like that. i have googled on it and found little results. My understanding of the SLi technology is this: it really is a work in progress right now. A lot of reviews i have...
Hey guys,
im putting together my new comp (finally) but have reached a fork in the road. Im trying to decide whether or not to get 2x 6600GT PCI-X cards and hook them up in SLi, or get one 6800GT card PCI-X. The 6600GT SLi seems to be better in a lot of the benchmarks, and it is cheaper to buy...
just google prime95 and download and youll get heaps of results. Its a fee program that was made to use idle cpu power in comps around the world to help find the worlds largest prime number. SHortly after this it became a good tool to stress test your cpu after overclocking.
Basically if you...
well first of all if you can post your mobo make and model we can point you to a direct download. Generally just go to the mobo site and there will be something on there that will be a download.
Im not sure if everyone is talking about bios or actual chipset drivers. Both should be avaialble on...
yeh but it doesnt happen on my other comp. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen or not. Its not something im overly worried about because it doesnt seem to be effecting performance at all, and ONLY happens during that particular part of ati tool.
hey people
whilst running ati tool on a newly built computer i noticed something strange. During the heat-up phase (the bit where the square is spinning) it makes a strange noise...it sort of sounds like the noise you get from a cd-rom when u first put a cd, before it starts actually spinning...
nice. definately a bit of overkill for what you have, but you could run two computers off that PSU and it would probably be fine :)
nice amount of amperage on the 12v rail as well...
Not only would that AMD SLAUGHTER the celeron, but it would SLAUGHTER the Pentium 4 2.7Ghz as well....
AMD has lower clock cycles thatn pentium, but they can accomplish more with each clock cycle. Definately the way to go if u are gaming.
