Could you not just get a solid mother board that will handle it, about 4 gigs of memory etc. etc.?

than to stick with Quad core @ 2.4GHz / 2.6GHz

unfortunately i'm not exactly familiar with the echelon in specific graphic cards... I had known that the 9800Gx2 was a solid benchmark at its own.
