    So Crosshair III formula, G.skill Ripjaws DDR3 1600, and a Phenom II 965 would work well together? That's about $300 One more query, My current system M3A79-T Dlux Phenom II 965BE 4GB 2x2gb DDR2@1066Mhz Kingston HyperX Would this be a justifiable upgrade for $300 Bucks?

    I currently have a Phenom II 965BE C2 in my old AM2+ board, and I want to upgrade to DDR3. Does anyone here use this same processor with a tried and true RAM MOBO combo? And also support for ATI Cross fire. Any input, greatly appreciated.

    I was just wondering if any thing that has an am2 socket will fit in my mobo's die I ran cpuid utility and it says socket am2 (940) And when i started looking for a possible upgrade nothing specified as far as socket after am2 I just really need to know if there are variants of the am2 socket

    Well i switched out the psu and removed 4gigs of ram which resulted in a slight reduction in performance. So thats not a problem the 550 watt psu seems to have made a slight difference.     thanks for your advice i just recently got this computer its my first dual core i really don't know much about them yet i just thought it was weird that i actually got more performance by clocking down the cpu its only doing a little better than my celeron which i oced from 3.46ghz to 4.50ghz...

    No i didn't mess with the ram clock. I think thats what the FSB clock is at. And the ram is rated at 800mhz all 4 of em identical. The cpu is 65nm brisbane currently at 2.50ghz ((normaly its at 3.01ghz)). as i said it runs faster underclocked do you think i should pull some ram maybe two sticks...
