This was my first time reapplying thermal paste so I'm no sure if I applied too much. I need to purchase new thermal paste so I can't do any testing until I do.
And yes. I did clean the old stuff first. I had to remove the Kingston HyperX ram because I needed more space to screw the heatsink...
Please help because I'm honestly freaking out right now.
I applied new thermal paste (hyper 212 evo) and now my computer WILL start but it shuts off within seconds, then turns back on and shuts off again.
I didn't had to remove the motherboard so I know everything is connected. I switched...
I've watched numerous videos of installing Hyper 212 Evo and I'm still uncertain if removing the motherboard is required or not. It would be a lot easier if I don't have to remove the motherboard.

Intel Core i5-3570k
8 GB ram
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
GTX 680
Windows 7 64 bit

I'm honestly freaking out right now because I have no idea what to do.
I was playing a game earlier (Sims 3) and suddenly the screen froze (after the screen froze, my computer made a weird noise. I'm pretty certain it came from HDD. It was like a "click-clack" sound). I didn't think much of it...
